No Better Technology?

opposite is in fact true. There is affordable technology that

Smaller vehicles Unsafe? 
One common myth is that the best gas mileage
cars are unsafe. Over the past thirty years, the
safety of vehicles has increases as the fuel economy has more
than doubled. This is proven in the statistics in vehicular
accidents and deaths. Safety features are a combination of
structural design and innovation, just as getting the best gas
mileage is; they in fact can complement each other.
Lost Jobs?
Many opponents of improved auto fuel economy lead the public
to think that increased fuel economy standards would reduce the
amount of
jobs out there. In reality, improving fuel economy would create
jobs within the auto industry as well as other sectors. In
today’s hurting economy, poor job market, and failing
environment, it would be in everyone’s best interest to make
the best mpg cars we can.
