Using Gas Mileage Devices

Understanding and Improving Gas Mileage with New Devices

You can use gas mileage devices in order to gain a feedback mechanism that informs you when you are using fuel appropriately and when you are using too much.  They really help you determine how to boost fuel mileage.

Fuel-economy computers – also called gas mileage devices – have been designed to assist us. Gas mileage devices are sometimes pre-installed by car manufacturers in the latest models of their automobiles.  You can install your own fuel-economy computers easily, like ScanGaugeii to examine trip mileage, average speed, instant mpg and average mpg.  You can monitor and get instant feedback.  Water for gas guides often recommend this to measure the results you are getting from hydrogen generators you have installed.

Valuable Features of Gas Mileage Devices

Instant mpg measures our driving so that we know when we are coasting, when we are driving at low speed and when we are accelerating. During coasting, our instant mpg will go up, but during low-speed driving or acceleration, our instant mpg will go down too.

Average mpg, as its name suggests, determines our average fuel economy from the last time our gas mileage device was set up to the present time. This number is deemed more stable than instant mpg.  It also tells us whether or not our car is achieving desired fuel economy.

Some may opt to use the instant mpg more than the average mpg feature, and visa versa. But to conserve fuel, the average mpg feature is recommended. Some fuel-saving methods you can try out fail to rev-up the engine sharply, avoid excessive braking, and too much coasting. Average mpg is easier to gauge, and you will find driving to be more fun because all you need to do is make the numbers go higher on this gauge.

To achieve optimum average mpg, record your average mpg over a period of time to determine if trends are rising or falling.  Engine efficiency is calculated by computing the fuel-burn rate in terms of gallons-per-hour consumed. To understand how this works, we must understand certain basic facts about our engines.

For example, a cold engine will consume more fuel because it must idle faster. The problem however, is that our car engine is cold unless we start it up and allow it to warm up.

Trouble codes are numbers that mechanics use when they diagnose your car’s problems. These trouble codes are listed in gas mileage devices based upon your automobile’s technical data. By studying the trouble codes, you can be forewarned about mechanical problems that may exist. You will save a bit of money afterwards, if you arrest the problem early on and might even want to implement a solution of your own.

Gas Mileage Devices for Better Gas Mileage

Your vehicle can be much more fuel efficient simply by paying attention to how you drive on daily basis and using the tips to save gas you'll find on hiddenfuel.com

Here's a great video that shows how you can double your gas mileage using a ScanGaugeii and a few tricks. I do not recommend the last bit about using acetone, though. It can be dangerous, smelly and run quite rough.
